The Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping (FNS40222) qualification offers you a career entry point into the financial services sector. This course introduces students to a broad range of accounting and bookkeeping skills including bookkeeping fundamentals, financial reports preparation, cloud computing, and the completion and lodging of business activity and instalment activity statements.

The course is made up of 13 units of competency. This includes 10 core units to cover all the essentials and 3 elective units picked to give you the most desired skills in the market.

This course will provide you with a solid foundation to begin your financial career. You will learn accounting principles as well as develop skills to perform a range of duties in the financial sector.

Entry Requirements

While there are no formal prerequisites for this course, to ensure you get the most out of your learning experience with us, the following requirements must be met:

  1. You must be 18 years of age or older at the time of enrolment and must have sufficient English language skills to complete the course.
  2. You should possess basic technological literacy and have access to the Microsoft Office suite or an equivalent software package.

Course Duration

Students will have a maximum of twelve (12) months to complete the course via online, self-paced learning.

The course start date is taken as the date students receive the course material. If students do not complete the course within the twelve (12) month timeframe, the enrolment will be cancelled. Students may apply for an extension for an extra fee. Please refer to the student handbook for details on requesting extensions.

TPB Approved Course

This course meets the Tax Practitioners Board (TPB) education requirements to become a registered BAS agent. Experience criteria also apply (please see TPB website for further information).

Accounting Software

This course uses the Student Version of the Accounting Software, Xero. Students will have free access to Xero as part of the course.

International/Overseas Students

Those possessing Subclass 500 visas, or any visas that expire on or before the anticipated course completion date, are not eligible to enrol with AUSCBT.

If any individual with a Subclass 500 visa or a visa that has a conflicting expiration date attempts to register, the enrolment will be cancelled and an administration fee of 25% will be charged to any student attempting to enrol.
